    1. Add the possibility to set the Designed Capacity manually

This would be great for batteries that don't send the right values too BatteryBar (like mine).

      • Time on Battery

My suggestion is that you add the ability to display (only on request) how long the computer has been running on battery since the last charge. This feature would get me to pay for the program.

        • show time of discharging, eg. discharging at 21.13

If its showing eg. remaining 3:18 and its 17:55 oclock I find it much more useful to be shown that I can work until 21.13 instead of showing 3:18 or 80% capacity.

          • Options to hide/show features

Add the option to show/hide features such as "Charge/Discharge Rate".

My computer doesn't show that info, besides it could make it a little more compact, more minimalistic.

            Thanks!

                • Cycle charge state of battery to extend life.

New battery technology does not like to be fully charged or fully discharged. I spend a lot of time at my desk and during that time I would like to keep the battery cycling between two charge points ( 30-80%) to extend the battery life.

It would also be cool if you could throttle back the charge rate. My system runs cooler (charges slower) when I use my old 65W power brick vs. the 90W. When I have the time, I go for cooler. It too improves battery life.

                  • Automatically Change Display View

Just like the lenovo power manager, when on ac, the display view automatically changes to percent charging and when unplugged it will change to time remaining.

                    • With the Windows taskbar on the side, BatteryBar is too big.

I have a widescreen and I put my Windows Taskbar on the side instead of at the bottom so my QuickLaunch bar can also be vertical instead of horizontal. BatteryBar does not shrink to a small-icon size while in this mode so it takes up too much space on the taskbar. Please consider this configuration in the next update.

I always forget in which power plan is currently set, so I'd like to see it in the battery display, ideally with a given icon/color.

                          • BatteryGadget

Even though there are lots of battery gadgets, I’d like to see this program in a gadget showing all the information on the popup window. I’m sure the program will be the best among all the available battery gadgets if it is beautifully designed.
To make the gadget very effective it should allow users to hide some information such as battery wear which is very good information, but I don’t like to see it in front of me all the time, because it doesn’t make me happy. Instead it makes me very worried about it even though there is nothing… more

                            • The Profiles.xml file should be saved in All Users folder

If I have multiple users accounts, the battery profile is saved only for each user. When I license battery bar, the license is activated only for one user. It should be saved for all users.

The problem with this is that the All Users folder is a protected folder in Vista and Windows 7. You must have admin privileges to write to it. I may be able to get around this by creating the file during install and giving the file write permissions, but I’ll need to test that out.

                              • Independent low battery alerts for a two battery setup

I think those on a two-battery system could really use a feature that alerts when either battery reaches the low-battery threshold, asking the user to either take out the battery or charge it up, even if Windows still says there is plenty of combined power left.

On my laptop with two batteries, Windows combines the capacity of the two batteries as one remaining percentage/capacity, but it drains one battery completely down to 0% before using the other battery.

Chris had mentioned that it isn't good for a battery to reach below 30% or it wears out faster.

                                • Discharging Maintenance to Extend Battery Life

What would set your already useful program apart from others is to have the Pro version contain a feature to drain a battery when the wear drops below a user-set percentage. While still in a/c mode, the program would shift to using the battery until a user-set low level then recharge (could be automatic or prompt the user). There are more specific user options that go with this process, but I think you get the idea. Please refer to the battery utility that comes with most ThinkPad laptops. Stepping up the tool from just reporting to helping extend the life… more

                                  • Add option to display capacity on mAh

While Windows reports capacity in mWh, it also provides voltage, which means that Battery bar could compute a reasonable estimate for mAh, just by dividing mWh by the average voltage remaining.

While mWh yields theoretically more consistant draw, mAh would allow people to callibrate their expectations with the specifications printed on the battery (which typically only lists mAh rating).

                                    • Move battery bar icon with the rest of taskbar icons

I would like to suggest the ability to move the battery bar display so that it resides with the rest of the taskbar icons. That way, everything is in one place and battery bar's display can be turned on (in Win7) and in return turn off default Windows battery icon. It would be nice to have the following options:
                                      a) 16x16 pixel icon in the taskbar when mouse-over, shows me the info about the battery or time left.
                                      b) forget about the icon, but a simple time remaining text on the taskbar when mouse-over also show the info on battery.

Could you add an option to hide the bar if no battery is present? bought the software would be a nice addition

                                          • Auto adjust the position on taskbar

BatteryBar will move on taskbar (My OS: Win7), if there are more icons on right, then BatteryBar will move to left, but it can't adjust the position after some icons disappear. And I can't adjust the position manually.
